From the rear of the 39 Pier you see a spectacular sight. To the east, you see the Bay Bridge, connecting Oakland and San Francisco. To the West, you see the Golden Gate Bridge (when there isn't fog, unlike in this photo where there's a ton) and the Pacific Ocean. And to the North (as in this picture) the first thing you will see is the beautiful Alcatraz Prison Island.
